2016 Season Kick Off

Let The Games Begin

Opening day for the Steelers on the road against the RedskinsThe moment Steeler Nation has been anxiously awaiting has finally arrived, the 2016 NFL Season is getting underway and our beloved Pittsburgh Steelers open in grand style with a prime time match-up in the Nations Capital against the Washington Redskins.

Like every year expectations are sky high, even more so this year as the team is as sound as it’s ever been. Returning after a season ending injury in 2015 is all pro center Maurkice Pouncey, who should round out one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.

With the absence of maligned receiver Martavis Bryant, the current group opposite Antonio Brown has yet to be proven as full time starters, including Darius Heyward-Bey and Sammy Coates. Slot receiver Eli Rogers should compensate somewhat for the loss of tight end Heath Miller, but time will tell how well this current group gels in the heat of battle.

Defense

With the addition of our first three picks in the 2016 draft, this defense rightfully should evolve into a powerhouse, or at least closer to the dominating style of play that Pittsburgh has become accustomed to. Nose guard Javon Hargrave is a beast, after a stellar preseason effort he won the starting job on the defensive line and will provide much improved play at that position.

It’s time to get your Terrible Towel ready, crack open a can of Iron City and enjoy the Black & Gold in their yearly quest for their seventh Lombarki Trophy. Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go!
