Eight players were released by the Steelers today bringing the team total to seventy nine, an additional four will need to be cut by a four o’clock deadline on Tuesday Aug. 28, with the final cuts being made after the final exhibition game against the Carolina Panthers. Second year corner back Senquez Golson was carted off the practice field with an ankle injury at St Vincents

Just when second year cornerback Senquez Golson was looking to rebound after his rookie year was cut short due to injury, he was carted off the practice field in Latrobe in what looked like a sprained ankle. Golson was being counted upon to help a depleted secondary which ranked a 30th last year overall
